Hammer blow for Isiah Pacheco and the Kansas City Chiefs
It's another devastating development for the Chiefs who could be without WR Hollywood Brown for the season
Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco has a fractured fibula and will miss βreal timeβ, according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport.
Pacheco sustained the injury on KCβs final drive of the fourth quarter in yesterday’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals. He was seen leaving Arrowhead Stadium in a walking boot and using crutches.
Itβs another huge blow for the Chiefs, whose offensive options have already been hit by a sternoclavicular injury to wide receiver Marquise βHollywoodβ Brown that requires surgery and could see him miss the rest of the season.
When asked about Pacheco after yesterdayβs game, head coach Andy Reid provided little update other than to say the 25-year-old would undergo tests last night.
Rapoport said the results of those tests have shown a fracture.
Writing on X, he said: βChiefs star RB Isiah Pacheco, who left the stadium in a walking boot and crutches, fractured his fibula based on initial tests, sources say.Β
βMore information coming to determine severity and associated damage, but Pacheco is set to miss real time.β

That was backed up by ESPNβs Adam Schefter, who wrote: βChiefs RB Isiah Pacheco is expected to land on injured reserve with the fibula injury he suffered Sunday vs. the Bengals, meaning he will miss a minimum of four weeks and quite possibly longer, per sources. He is undergoing additional testing today to determine the full damage.β
Pacheco rushed for 90 yards on 19 carries and caught five passes in the 26-25 win over Cincinnati before the injury happened.
