Arsenal’s William Saliba reveals bad habit he had to remove from his game

Saliba’s time at Arsenal has been fairly short at this point, with loan spells taking up much of his career as a Gunner.

However, when wearing an Arsenal shirt, it is clear Saliba is one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

Arsenal’s form fell off a cliff when Saliba was injured last term but he has looked solid so far this season.

Saliba was not always a quality centre-back, though, and he has been discussing the bad trait he had to remove from his game:

“I wanted to score in every game, but I wouldn’t say I was a selfish player,” he told the Arsenal website.

“Some strikers are selfish, but I also looked for my teammates too.

“This is maybe why I wasn’t captain! As I said, I was young in my head, but then I grew up. My coaches helped me a lot at that age. I realised how you had to be on the pitch and I changed.”
