Unai Emery had been experimenting with a back three although, following Diego Carlos’ injury at Anfield, this may be put on hold for now.
Although, with Tyrone Mings also out long-term, Clément Lenglet has arrived on loan from Barcelona, so he could be in line for his debut.
In goal, Emi Martínez returned after a short injury against Liverpool, before also starting both of Argentina’s CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers this week.
Ollie Watkins will continue to lead the line, even though Jhon Durán has scored in both fixture at Villa Park so far this season.

Crystal Palace team news
Rob Holding could be in line to make his debut at centre-back, given that Marc Guéhi is out, having suffered an injury during England’s win at Hampden on Tuesday.
Chris Richards is the other option, having started both of USA’s victories during the international window.
In goal though, Dean Henderson is expected to be the new number one in South London, so will he come in for Sam Johnstone straight away?
In attack, Michael Olise remains sidelined, but Jean-Philippe Mateta could come in, potentially alongside Odsonne Édouard.
Mateta scored a hat-trick away to Plymouth Argyle, before providing two assists off the bench in the win over Wolves a few days later.
