It’s fair to say that these two teams could hardly be coming into this clash in any more contrasting moods.
On Monday night, Atlético Madrid demolished Rayo Vallecano 7-0 at Vallecas, with Antoine Griezmann, Memphis, Nahuel Molina, Álvaro Morata, Ángel Correa and Marcos Llorente all on target in a rout.

In stark contrast, Sevilla are rock bottom of the table, the only team in La Liga yet to put a point on the board.
Having previously lost 2-1 to Villarreal and 4-3 at Alavés, this makes los Hispalenses only the third team in La Liga history to begin a campaign with three defeats out of three, whilst conceding 5+ goals in these matches.
The previous two are Sabadell (1948/49) and Sporting Gijón (2008/09), who went on to finish rock bottom and 14th, surviving by just a solitary point, respectively.
José Luis Mendilibar did lead Sevilla to a seventh Europa League title back in May, but another defeat here could singal the end of his very short reign in charge.
Given everything we’ve seen from both clubs, anything other than a comfortable home victory at Cívitas Metropolitano would be a major surprise.
