If Republic of Ireland are going to win any of their qualifiers this year, it’ll surely have to be this one.
So far, it’s two games played and two defeats for the Boys in Green, starting with a narrow 1-0 reverse when France visited Dublin in March.
Then, on Friday night, Stephen Kenny’s team were defeated 2-1 by Greece, despite the fact Nathan Collins managed to bag an equaliser at Agia Sophia Stadium.
So, since Kenny took over three years ago, Ireland have won just four of 23 competitive games, these wins coming against Azerbaijan, Luxembourg, Scotland and Armenia.
The Boys in Green are, more or less, guaranteed a play-off place, which they’ll need, given that France, Netherlands and Greece are also in Group B.
So, it’s all about building some sort of momentum ahead of a March play-off, with Kenny’s side desperate to get off the mark here.
Overall, since gaining UEFA membership, Julio César Ribas’ side have now lost all 41 qualifiers they’ve ever played, conceding 186 goals.
So, despite their own difficulties, Republic of Ireland should claim a rare victory at the Aviva Stadium.

Gavin Bazunu will once again get the nod in goal, chosen over Caoimhín Kelleher.
Up front, Evan Ferguson bagged his first Ireland goal against Latvia in March, hoping to add to that, this time in a competitive fixture.
With captain Séamus Coleman injured and Matt Doherty suspended, having been sent off late on in Athens, a midfielder, possibly Jason Knight or Jayson Molumby, will fill-in at right-wing-back.
Mikey Johnston, who switched allegiance from Scotland earlier this year, is one to keep an eye on.
