Having started a qualification campaign with four wins out of four for the first time ever, will 2023 keep just getting better and better for Scotland?
Back on matchday one, the Tartan Army defeated Cyprus 3-0 in Glasgow, and this would prove to be just the start of an historic year already.
Three days later, the Dark Blues enjoyed a first victory over Spain since 1984, with Scott McTominay bagging a brace on one of the most famous nights Hampden has witnessed in recent times.
Then, Steve Clarke’s side began the June window with that comeback victory in Norway; Lyndon Dykes equalising in the 87th minute, before Kenny McLean stroked home a winner less than 100 seconds later.
This is only the second time ever Scotland have won an international despite trailing in the 80th minute, the other coming at the Kennington Oval against England in April 1889.
Last time out, the Tartan Army were partying in the rain, as their game against Georgia was delayed by over two hours due to unrelenting rain that only Glasgow can produce in mid-June.
All of this means Scotland are sitting pretty at the top of Group A, with maximum points to their name, and they could mathematically qualify as early as next week, despite facing England in a friendly on Tuesday.
For that to be a possibility, Clarke’s side must take care of business in Larnaca’s scorching heat, so will the traveling Tartan Army have another victory to celebrate?
This is the most-likely outcome, given that Cyprus are currently bottom of the section, yet to get off the mark.
Following their defeat at Hampden, Temur Ketsbaia’s team have been beaten 2-1 by Georgia and then 3-1 in Norway.
Overall, Cyprus have won just four of their last 28 competitive outings, a period that includes a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Scotland in Nicosia in November 2019.
So, an away win should be on the cards at Georgios Karapatakis AEK Arena.

Alex Gogić is a familiar face to Scotland fans in Cyprus’ team, likely to start as part of a back five.
Striker Pieros Sotiriou is the top-scorer in this squad, although his 12th, and most-recent, came in March 2022.

Many were exciting to see Elliot Anderson make his international debut this week, but he’s had to pull-out of the squad injured.
Scott McTominay has played just seven minutes for Manchester United so far this season but, having scored five in four qualifiers so far, remains a key player at international level.
Meanwhile, John McGinn has scored in Scotland’s last two meetings with Cyprus, hoping to make that three on the spin in Larnaca.
