Safe to say, then, that Sheriff should head into this evening’s action with spirits high in the camp.

This comes with their opponents in waiting widely viewed as being amongst the favourites to go all the way in this season’s Europa League.

With Mourinho something of a mastermind when it comes to continental competition, too, Roma should, in turn, go on to carve out a comfortable opening day victory in Tiraspol.
