One of two opening day fixtures in Europa League Group D is set to play out at the Gewiss Stadium on Thursday, September 21st.
The matchup in question will see Atalanta act as hosts, in a meeting with Rakow Czestochowa.
Beginning with the former, Atalanta will head into proceedings an altogether hit-and-miss campaign to date.
Across their first four outings of the term in Serie A, La Dea have notched a pair of wins, and a pair of defeats.
The most recent came this past weekend, when, in their return to action on the back of the international break, Gian Piero Gasperini’s troops were condemned to the wrong side of a five-goal thriller at Fiorentina.
Both of Atalanta’s victories, though, came in impressive fashion, by two and three-goal margins against Sassuolo and Monza respectively.

And yet, Atalanta should be considered clear-cut favourites to ultimately emerge triumphant come the full-time whistle.
This comes with upcoming opponents Rakow Czestochowa remaining, on the European stage, relative minnows.
Rakow, to their credit, have enjoyed an impressive campaign on the continent to date, after battling through no fewer than three rounds of Champions League qualifying fixtures only to be downed at the final hurdle by Danish giants Copenhagen.
On the domestic front, meanwhile, they have gotten things back on track of late, courtesy of a trio of successive league victories.
The latest, on Saturday, saw a solitary Giannis Papanikolaou strike prove enough to put LKS Lodz to the sword by a goal to nil.
But, ultimately, the quality boasted throughout Atalanta’s squad should, when all is said and done, prove too much for a game Rakow outfit to contend with on Thursday night.
